Yuki Tanaka trained for six years under a mokuhanga woodblock master in Kyoto before opening Tanaka Woodblock in 2016 to bring that centuries-old craft to apparel. Every design keeps the layered, hand-carved look of true woodblock artistry, even where modern production is faster.

Yuki still cuts a test block for every new release before it’s adapted for the garment, just to make sure the composition survives the jump.
