Magnus Lindqvist apprenticed with a traditional Swedish woodcut artisan before opening his own studio in 2017. Lindqvist Woodcut keeps the rough, hand-carved edges of folklore illustration — wolves, pine forests, and rune-adjacent lettering pulled from his grandfather’s stories.

Magnus still carves a physical block for the outline of every design, even though the final production is done digitally, because he says the carving is where the design actually gets decided.
