In short: Every term HollaJack uses, defined in a sentence or two. A run is all the pieces made from one design; an edition number is a piece’s permanent position in that run; the price of each piece is the garment plus the artist’s art price, which steps up with every sale; and every piece carries a certificate of ownership.
- Run
- All the pieces made from one design. Every design on HollaJack is a run, and every piece in it has its own number. More
- Edition number
- A piece's position in its run, written as N° followed by three digits, for example N° 048. It is assigned when the order completes, recorded to the order and never reissued. More
- Numbered edition
- A piece that carries a permanent position in its run. HollaJack sells every piece this way. More
- Open run
- A run with no fixed total. It stays open until the artist stops it. HollaJack runs are open. More
- Limited edition
- An edition capped at a total announced in advance, such as 1 of 100. HollaJack runs are not capped, so they are numbered editions rather than limited editions. More
- Timed edition
- An edition sold for a set window, whose total is only known when the window closes. More
- Open edition
- An edition with no cap and no deadline, usually unnumbered. More
- Claim
- To buy a piece on HollaJack. A claim takes the next number in the run at the current price.
- Edition ledger
- The record shown on every piece: how many editions have been claimed, the current price and the next price. HollaJack uses it instead of countdown timers. More
- Art price
- The part of a piece's price the artist sets. It starts at $2.00 by default and rises with every edition sold. More
- Garment price
- The price of the blank tee the art is printed on: $21.00 for a Unisex or Men's tee and $25.25 for a Women's tee.
- Step
- The amount the art price rises with each edition sold, $0.10 by default. More
- Base
- The flat $18.00 HollaJack keeps on every tee before the split. More
- Split
- How the rest of a tee's price is shared: everything above the $18.00 base is divided 50/50 between the artist and HollaJack. More
- Made to order
- Produced after purchase rather than taken from stock. Every HollaJack piece is made to order.
- Print on demand
- A production model where each item is printed when it is ordered, so nobody holds inventory. More
- Certificate of ownership
- A record issued for every piece sold, with a public page and a QR code. It shows the piece, the artist, its edition number once the order completes, and the current owner as a first name and last initial. More
- Transfer
- Moving a certificate to a new owner. The current owner starts it, and it completes only when the recipient accepts. More
- Hash chain
- A way of recording events where each entry includes a fingerprint (a hash) of the entry before it, so changing any past entry breaks every one after it. HollaJack certificates record their history this way. More
- Provenance
- The documented history of who made an object and who has owned it. More
- Canvas add-on
- A canvas print of a design ordered together with its tee and printed with the same edition number. Currently $40.00. More
- Chop
- HollaJack's maker's mark: the hand-drawn HJC glyph, used the way printmakers use a blind stamp, as the sign that a piece is authentic.
- Storefront
- Each artist's own page on HollaJack, listing their runs under their name.
- Digital product passport
- A digital record the EU is introducing for products, reached through a data carrier such as a QR code. Rules for textiles are planned for adoption in the fourth quarter of 2027. More
