One thing I have started to notice since starting this project is that the people today who are pushing sports to new levels aren’t the classic daredevils we grew up with. By that I mean the image of the beer chugging, loud, in your face, mohawked, living on the edge types that came and went in the 80’s and 90’s. Today these guys are intelligent, inventive, creative, driven, and well spoken. Maybe that’s just the way it has to be to survive at the level these people are at, survival of the fittest.
Take Yves Rossy for example, when he’s on stage he’s laid back, funny, and just a truly interesting guy. Just under the skin though is a guy who strapped what is essentially a potential bomb to his back and jumped out of a plane flying at 150 M.P.H. plus over the English Channel. It takes a special kind of person to keep their cool in a situation like that. Bottom line is that Yves created something truly amazing and I’m excited to see where he takes it in the future.
